Laundry Assistant Sorter Screen Printing

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Sorter sorts and counts garments at the sorting table, after the garments have been properly tied and dyed according to customer specifications. Garments are hand-counted, recorded, and inspected to ensure that quality standards are met. Garments are counted and placed in boxes to be shipped to the customer. Shipping label is prepared and placed on box. Sorter ensures that garments are prepared for shipping properly. Works closely with the Shipping Department to use proper shipping method and ships garments on time. Completed orders are counted, boxed, and transported to Shipping using the pallet jack electronic pallet truck.
Additional duties and responsibilities could be required.
Primary Job Focus:
Reads work order to properly locate, count, record, transport, and sort garments according to customer's and manager's expectations.
Job Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Must be able to read work orders, write, count, and record numbers. Must be capable of following written and verbal instructions. Good counting skills are necessary.
Must have demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and enter data into company's database for tracking purposes.
Education and
Experience:
Prior work experience in positions with repetitive tasks, operating machinery, and physically demanding work in a warehouse environment is desired. Experience working with numbers and/or counting is helpful. High school diploma or G.E.D. is necessary. No experience in laundry work is necessary.
Training Requirements:
Sorter must have ability to listen and take direction from senior company Sorter and/or manager. Sorter will job shadow a senior worker while learning the job. Sorter will refer to the client's Help Desk (online instructional system) for specific laundering, dyeing, or tying procedures, in addition to the one-on-one training time with sorting mentor. One-on-one training with mentor is approximately one or more weeks, or as soon as new Sorter performs work satisfactorily.
Physical Demands:
Lift 35 - 50 lbs hourly without aid. Performs all work functions while standing, walking and lifting garments . Will load heavy boxes of garments onto pallet to transfer garments to Shipping or retrieve garments from Inventory. Must have good manual dexterity and handle repetitive hand movement with ease. Will transport thousands of garments using a dolly, tote, or wheeled cart.

Experience:
Not required.
Work Environment:
Laundering of garments is performed in Warehouse environment. Worker is exposed to dye chemicals, cleaning chemicals, strong odors, extreme heat in summer months, and coldness in winter months. Laundering machines produce high levels of hot steam and air pressure. Sorter is exposed to occasional loud noise while working in warehouse.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Only closed toed shoes are to be worn on the job. Gloves, aprons, and goggles are provided by company if necessary. Normal sorting duties do not require any PPE. All clothing worn by Sorter must be in accordance with the guidelines published in the company handbook.
Pay rate: $10.00
Hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Mon-Fri and some Sat.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
