Micro Center is seeking a STORE VISUAL PLANNER AND DESIGNER.
Reporting to the Senior Director of VMSD, this planner will be an integral part of our Visual Merchandising & Store Display team as they collaborate with internal departments to determine visual presentation strategies for Micro Center retail stores.
MAJOR
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Senior Director of VMSD and partners in Executive Management Sales, Merchandising, Inventory, and Retail Operations to determine visual presentation strategies.
Analyze competitor's product displays and department layouts to benchmark best practices to develop new concepts for Micro Center merchandising.
Develop preliminary plans and elevations for new and remodel stores using AutoCAD; in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (ADA, fire, and building codes, etc.
).
Perform additional design functions including fixture development (including production coordination), spatial planning, and product merchandising.
Maintain master drawing files of prototypical store layout, custom fixture and millwork design, design specifications, and responsibility schedules.
Create revisions to preliminary plans as necessary for approval from internal stakeholders, communicating those changes with the architects and engineers assigned to each project.
Coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure all initial design intent drawings, revisions, and final construction documentation is to Micro Center specifications and standards.
Coordinate with all internal cross-function partners/departments to ensure all needs are accommodated.
Facilitate building plan permit submission, in coordination with architects, engineers, and general contractors.
Assist with change order review and approval during construction.
Act as owner representative Construction Project Manager for new and remodel store projects, as well as special project rollouts.
Attend and actively participate in meetings with store operations, merchandising, marketing, IT, construction and real estate; helping to ensure schedules and budgets are adhered to.
Maintain timely communication with all internal and external cross functional partners, contractors, and vendors.
This position will be required to travel at least 25% of the time, but up to 50% of the time during project execution; including some weekend travel.
Physical requirements:
Ability to frequently walk, stoop or kneel, and to occasionally climb ladders.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Color and peripheral vision.
Ability to work in conditions typical of a high technology office and/or store environment, including moderate noise levels.
Ability to work schedules that include all hours of office and/or store operation, and other hours as needed, including overnight store projects.
EDUCATION &
Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred 5-7 years related work experience Proficiency in Auto CAD required Excellent problem-solving and strong organization skills Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Knowledge of building systems and codes, construction materials and methods Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent reasoning and mathematic skills MICRO CENTER OFFERS EXCEPTIONAL

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
